We’re thrilled to share some big news: Good Food Oxfordshire is officially going for Gold in the Sustainable Food Places Awards! This isn’t just a huge step for us, but for Oxfordshire as a whole, as we continue our journey towards a truly sustainable and equitable food system. 

You might remember that we proudly secured the Sustainable Food Places Silver Award in 2023. That was a fantastic achievement, a testament to the incredible work being done by our partners and network members. Since then, we’ve been working tirelessly, connecting with our extensive network of over 220 members – from dedicated farmers and vibrant community food groups to influential policymakers. Our shared mission has always been clear: to build a food system that works for everyone in Oxfordshire. 

Why Gold Matters for Oxfordshire 

Going for Gold isn’t just about another award... It’s about cementing Oxfordshire's place as a national leader in food sustainability and accessibility. It’s about showcasing the incredible work being done across our county to: 

• Reduce food waste: Ensuring good food doesn't end up in landfills. 
• Boost local produce: Supporting our amazing local farmers and producers. 
• Combat food poverty: Making sure everyone has access to healthy, affordable food. 
• Promote healthy eating: Empowering our communities to make nutritious choices.
